The Town of Wellesley Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the position ofSummer Camp Senior Counselors. 

Season: June 1 – August 16, 2025

Pay range: $16 - $19/hour (commensurate with experience) 

Description: 

Under the supervision of the Summer Camp Director, a Summer Camp Senior Counselor is directly responsible for a group of campers and the activities that those campers are engaged in.  A Summer Camp Counselor may also be responsible for planning and/or implementing specific programs or special events or any other duties as outlined by the Summer Camp Director.

Essential Functions: 

Essential Function Statements – Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: 

1) Under the direction of the Summer Camp Director, plans, organizes, and implements daily activities based on the needs and interests of the campers.              

2) Responsible for the health, safety, and general behavior of campers during the entire camp day.

3) Attends and participates in all staff meetings

4) Must be able to deal with disciplinary issues amongst campers and staff co-workers properly, and notify the Summer Camp Director of each incident.

5) Acts as a liaison between campers and parents, by keeping their respective campers parents appraised of any pertinent camp information

6) Acts as a professional, mature role model at all times.  Acts as a mature and responsible representative of the Wellesley Recreation Department.

7) Performs additional duties as assigned by the Summer Camp Director.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Must be at least 18 years of age. 
• Possess Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification or equivalent
