The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is a not-for-profit international regulatory authority whose mission is to assure the effective and efficient reduction of risks to the reliability and security of the grid. NERC develops and enforces Reliability Standards; annually assesses seasonal and long‐term reliability; monitors the bulk power system through system awareness; and educates, trains, and certifies industry personnel. Your Impact
NERC seeks a mission-focused individual who wants to make a difference by supporting the reliability of the North American electric grid. As Enforcement Analyst, you play an important role in supporting the North American grid’s security and reliability through various Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program (CMEP) activities. You will support a variety of assignments related to the review of streamlined matters, assessment of process alignment through oversight activities, and support of implementation of improvements to the CMEP tools and processes. These activities are conducted through coordination, collaboration, and engagement with CMEP staff across the ERO Enterprise. This position reports to Senior Counsel, Enforcement.
Your Role
- Employ predictive analysis using statistical methodology and business rules to help formulate future strategies.
- Identify areas for statistical innovation, process improvement, and data validation.
- Develop innovative approaches or processes/codes to (1) improve business results, (2) improve efficiencies, and (3) reduce potential errors.
- Perform independent research and manage multiple work streams and deliverables.
- Perform data analysis and prepare appropriate reports that are informative and concise and communicate key objectives to the target audience.
- Manage confidential data in relation to NERC’s policies.
- Participate in the review, analysis, and preparation of enforcement dispositions and related tasks and other enforcement activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or related fields with relevant experience.
- Experience with current technology and tools for data analysis, databases, and visualization tools, such as SAP, SQL, Webi, and PowerBI.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
- Ability to analyze current and historical data to identify trends, develop predictive indicators, and predict future trends and events.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various professional backgrounds.
- Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels.

- The position may be based remotely but must be able to travel to NERC offices if needed. Reimbursement of travel expenses will be in accordance with the company’s travel and expense reimbursement policies.
- Travel is necessary several times a year.
