Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Legal Practice Coordinator in our Litigation Practice Group, reporting to the Manager of Legal Practice Support. This position will reside in the Miami office and will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support to the Litigation Practice Group in an environment where superior client service is emphasized. This position is designed to provide an opportunity to develop client relationships, routinely engage with Litigation Practice Group attorneys and legal professionals, and gain significant analytical and project management skills.

Key responsibilities of this position:

  • Coordinates communication and planning across attorney teams who are handling multiple client matters.

  • Coordinates hearings, service of process, filings and calendaring for a high-volume practice in multiple courts.

  • Perform research for judicial rules and procedures in various courts (State and Federal).

  • Establishes, organizes and maintains case filings, emails and correspondence.

  • Review vendor invoices and ensure payment is met timely.

  • Manages case and client information manually and digitally through the use of electronic databases.

  • Coordinates the gathering of information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence necessary to respond to discovery.

  • Supports the development and management of case and practice group timelines.

  • Assists attorneys with the preparation and review of various pleadings, discovery and document production materials.

  • Distributes draft documents to attorneys and clients.

  • Provides legal support when needed, including but not limited to, assisting with the compilation, drafting, proofreading, editing, and gathering of factual support for briefs and dispositive motions and participating in fact investigation, witness interviews.

  • Provides administrative support when needed, including, but not limited to, document production, conflicts checks for new matters, business intake materials and expense forms/paperwork.

  • Coordinates and participates in day-to-day client management.

  • Participates in supervised client communications to exchange information.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of three (3) years professional or legal experience, preferably in law firm or legal department focusing on litigation.

  • Demonstrated litigation experience required.

  • Independent, self-starting, and self-motivated.

  • Superior written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are a must.

  • Exceptional organization skills.

  • Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Flexibility to travel and work evening hours at times as needed.
