Based on our internal equity review process, the starting salary for this position will be $16.66.
The current full hourly range for these positions is $16.66 - $17.62.

Located at Owen Beach in the heart of Point Defiance Park, the Marina operates the Kayak Shack, a seasonal kayak rental facility that provides visitors with access to kayaking on the Sound. Under the direction of the Kayak Team Lead, the Kayak Rental Assistant plays a key role in ensuring a fun, safe, and enjoyable experience for customers. Responsibilities include greeting guests, assisting with rental forms, processing payments using a computerized POS system, and helping customers transport kayaks to and from the beach. The Kayak Rental Assistant is also responsible for rinsing and cleaning returned kayaks and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the rental area. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, engaging with the public, and being part of a dynamic waterfront team.

Position Information
Provide a high level of customer service to patrons during a variety of events, programs, and rentals. Customer Service Assistants also responsible for providing assistance to Recreation participants and security for the facility.
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to:
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
- Observe applicable safety requirements, use safety equipment provided, implement appropriate safety practices at all times and report immediately any unsafe working conditions or hazards.
