Summary

This position plays a vital role within the Milwaukee Document Processing Unit, requiring effective communication with leaders, peers, and clients. The Document Scanner Clerk is responsible for scanning, indexing, and managing documents, ensuring that all materials are accurately processed and stored within electronic case files. This multifaceted role includes quality assurance, research, troubleshooting, and various clerical tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of the document processing unit.This position plays a vital role within the Milwaukee Document Processing Unit, requiring effective communication with leaders, peers, and clients. The Document Scanner Clerk is responsible for scanning, indexing, and managing documents, ensuring that all materials are accurately processed and stored within electronic case files. This multifaceted role includes quality assurance, research, troubleshooting, and various clerical tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of the document processing unit.

Your role in our mission

  • Document Management: Scan, index, and upload documents into electronic case files using Kofax software with precision and efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of scanned and indexed documents daily to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients in person to scan documents and answer any related questions, providing excellent customer service.
  • Document Retrieval: Collaborate with team members to locate and retrieve documents, both physically and electronically, ensuring proper attachment to members' cases.
  • Problem Solving: Research, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise within cases, applying analytical skills to maintain the integrity of document processing.

What we're looking for

  • Basic Computer Skills: 1-2 years of experience with basic computer and data entry skills, including experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in document handling and data entry.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 5-15 lbs as needed for document handling and filing.
  • Experience: Previous mailroom and filing experience is a plus.

What you should expect in this role

  • Office Setting: Work in a professional office environment with access to the latest document processing technology.
  • Onsite: This is an onsite role at DHS Milwaukee Enrollment Services (MiLES), located at 6055 N 64th St. Milwaukee, WI 53218. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The pay range for this position is $30,500.00 - $43,500.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
