JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking aCMAforDuke Cardiology of Caryto perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice to assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure office runs smoothly.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs, administering survey tools, data collection, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications
- Completing procedural tasks including: administering vaccinations and medications according to protocols and provider orders, specimen collection and correct labeling, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including EKGs, 6-minutewalks, orthostatic blood pressures), reviewing pre-printed material with patient/family, bill for nursing procedures.
- Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant programaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
- High school or GED graduation required.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
- BLS required
