Description
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our IT O&L Chromatography Systems department located at our Ridgefield, Connecticut facility. As an Intern, you will work closely with international colleagues to deploy and support global enterprise laboratory systems such as BIChrom (Waters Empower) and Akta/Unicorn.

This role is an on-site position 2-3 days per week in our Ridgefield, CT office.
Before applying ensure you can commit to the following:
- Expect to be on-site for at least 3 days per week and must be located in the local area for the Co-op.
- Candidates will need to be available to start in May - Mid June - dates to be announced as those are considered.
- Internships extend through August / September dependent upon business needs and availability.
Compensation Data
This position offers an hourly rate typically between $20/ hour and $33/ hour commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled.For an overview of our benefits please click here. Rate is dependent upon degree level.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
- Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship.
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
- Major or minor in related field of internship
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.
- Train on working within the laboratory environment
- Plan and organize small sized projects to automate and streamline system support activities
- Work together with IT team colleagues and laboratory scientists to support BI chromatography systems
- Perform research on digital initiatives, which may help to realize efficiencies and cost reduction in the laboratory environment
- Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing

- Undergraduate Studies in Information Technology (IT) and/or Life Sciences
- Fluent in English and in German or Spanish with strong communications skills
- Highly motivated individual with good team spirit
- Previous Information Technology and/or scientific experience is a plus
