Job description:JOB SUMMARY: Perform a variety of assembly procedures required to assemble various instrument sub-assemblies necessary for the final assembly of viscometers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work from blueprints, work orders, and written and verbal instructions from lead person. Review work order and obtain pre-picked parts in holding area. Inspect parts for correctness.
- Complete sub-assembly operations including jewels, pointer shafts, motors, transducers, cone plate testing, Helipath, Thermosel, spindle straightening, base and upright rod assembly, and various other sub-assemblies.
- Assemble parts, using various equipment including drill press and arbor press.
- Inspect, test, and where appropriate, calibrate assembled parts for functionality and make any necessary repairs or replacements.
- Forward properly identified completed orders to Stock Area. When necessary, wrap sub-assemblies in protective material.
- Final instrument inspection, testing, and packing.
- Look for ways to implement the continuous improvement program.
- Function as Silicone Bottler.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports as required. Maintain established quality standards. Ensure work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition, that prescribed safety measures are followed, and established company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
- 0 to 2 years of experience
- Prior experience in an assembly role, especially where precision and quality control are emphasized.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A technical or vocational education in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field would be highly beneficial
