We are hiring a new role for a Derivatives Specialist based in our Menlo Park Office to create opportunities in listed options for individual stocks and indices.

You will examine implied volatility of options relative to historical ranges and recommend option overwriting strategies against long and short equity positions in Seligman hedge fund and mutual fund portfolios with an eye towards protecting and enhancing fund performance.

You will also periodically recommend buying options to augment directional bets on individual stocks or broad market indices, including buying put spreads and writing calls on QQQ and SMH Exchange Traded Funds.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify money making opportunities in listed options for individual stocks and indices.
  • Examine implied volatility of options relative to historical ranges and recommend option overwriting strategies against long and short equity positions in Seligman hedge fund and mutual fund portfolios with an eye towards protecting and enhancing fund performance.
  • Periodically recommend buying options to augment directional bets on individual stocks or broad market indices, including buying put spreads and writing calls on QQQ and SMH Exchange Traded Funds.
  • Endeavor to help with investor relations and marketing efforts of Seligman hedge funds.


Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in equities (buy or sell side)
  • 2+ years of experience in index and single security options trading; proficiency in hedging strategies with options and in identifying times where individual options are "cheap" (low implied volatility) and "expensive" (high implied volatility).


Preferred

  • Knowledge of technology stocks
  • An interest in hedge fund marketing

250,000-300,000
