About This Opportunity

7-Eleven Test Kitchen Technician

Supports the 7-Eleven Fresh Foods Product Development Team by ensuring the test kitchen is organized, well stocked and clean. Responsible include all aspects of managing the test kitchen:

• Overall organization and flow of the test kitchen. Ensuring product developers/product technicians can find what they need when they need it.
• Overall cleanliness of the test kitchen. Feedback to users and night cleaning crew on gaps and opportunities. This includes deep cleaning of equipment, washing and organizing dishware, washing of clothware. Ensure kitchen GMPs are followed.
• Ordering of products/ingredients/consumables through McLane's, Sysco, LaBatt's, Amazon and/or the grocery store on a weekly basis. Sending invoices to accounting to be paid.
• Receiving of shipments including logging and putting up in the dry, refrigerated, or frozen storage - Daily activity.
• Shipping products as requested, including on dry ice.
• Preventive maintenance of equipment including daily temperature checks, periodic deep cleaning and service calls.
• Maintenance of vendor certification and employee safe food handling certifications.
• Management of outside storage for equipment. Encouraging team members to remove equipment that is no longer being used.
• Ensuring storage areas are properly cleaned and maintained. Arranging donation of useable foods to local charity organizations. Execute recycling program.
• Maintaining certifications of vendors and employees utilizing the test kitchen and organizing the test kitchen calendar.
• Train new team members on kitchen protocols.
• Aid in the sensory/product testing, data collection and sampling as requested and time permits.

• Looking for a candidate with experience in the food industry (restaurant/QA/etc) with great organizational and teamwork skills.
• Educational requirements - Ideally B.S. in Food Science/Nutrition/Culinary Sciences but will consider experience in lieu of education.
• Must be proficient at Microsoft (Word, Excel, Teams etc) products.
• Key characteristics include ability to work in teams with a diverse set of members, change gears quickly, multitask and communicate effectively.
• Able to lift 25-50 lbs. daily.
