About the Job:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in triaging incoming patients
Monitor and provide care for critical and fractious patients
Administer medications and assist with treatments
Assist in diagnostic tests and emergency procedures
Ensure patient comfort and wellbeing
Provide support to veterinary professionals during exams and procedures
Communicate effectively with pet owners and answer questions about care
Maintain and organize medical equipment and supplies
Accurately document patient care in electronic records
Engage in ongoing education and training to expand skills

Compensation Range:

Veterinary Assistant: $21.00-$31.00per hour

Work Schedule:

Various shifts available: days, swings, and overnights
Full-Time positions, 4/10 schedule
$5 shift differential for overnight shifts

Basic Required Qualifications:

High school diploma
3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry
Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, client invoices, estimates, and other position-related tasks
Maintain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)
CA-RVT license preferred but not required
