These Winder Test Technicians winds coils for repair of electric motor and generator parts, such as rotors, stators, and armatures, using original winding as guide to determine number of turns and size of wire by performing the following duties.
As a Winder Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Winding coil on machine or directly into slots of rotors, stators, and armatures.
- Winding tape around coils by hand to insulate coils.
- Cutting and forms sheet insulation to fit slots.
- Inserting coils into slots and pounds to compress and shape windings.
- Painting coils with insulating varnish or enamel.
- Using brazing equipment consisting of induction, resistance, or torch.
- Obtaining critical measurements and create wiring and blocking diagrams.
- Cleaning and prepare coils prior to winding.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent and 2+ yrs of winding experience
- Be able to regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work overtime hours as needed
- Have good interpersonal skills, inclusive working style and able to effectively communicate
