Position Summary:
The Demand Planner manages forecasting activities associated with customers and products. This position creates and maintains forecast models for customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, and other sources. The Demand Planner is the integration point into the sales and commercial organization and liaison to supply planning and manufacturing. This position leads the dialogue each week and month for their respective customers and products with key teams of General Managers, sales, marketing, and supply planning.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Develop demand forecasts and operational forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
- Interact with sales, marketing, and finance to understand demand forecast drivers
- Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with sales, marketing, and planning to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
- Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool
- Provide input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
- Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning
- Maintain Best in Class forecast accuracy levels
- Maintain Best in Class out of stock levels
- Eliminate breakage, damage, and loss due to product age
- Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 plus years Supply Chain planning or Production/Manufacturing experience or HS Diploma/GED, 8 plus years Supply Chain planning or Production/Manufacturing experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work with Mathematical concepts
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of an organization
- Change management experience
- Knowledge of SAP
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
- This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Planning experience in a Food or Beverage manufacturing environment
- APICS or other forecasting Certification
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Supervisory experience
