Full Job Description
Supervisory Capacity: Direct Reports: 20+
- Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with the Production Manager (i.e. vacation, temporary workers, overtime work).
- Provide production expectations and quality feedback to team members in daily start up meetings.
- Monitor daily established production requirements throughout the shift to ensure customer requirements and plant objectives are met while ensuring HSE and 5S policies and standards are followed.
- Train and monitor employee performance to ensure operator is certified and operator training matrix is updated and meeting departmental targets.
- Compile KPI data and populate end of shift report. Distribute to manager and appropriate operations and support personnel.
- Ensure job training and daily job rotations are in place and enforced.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance of the UAW contract, team member handbook, safety guidelines, all rules, programs and procedures that pertain to production team members.
- Monitor quality of product throughout the production process.
- Participates in Team Leader meetings and Quality initiatives.
- Daily review of process and people to identify and implement CI opportunities.
Required Education Level
High School Graduate or Equivalent Area of Study: General Studies *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production
- Minimum of 1 year of experience within the automotive industry
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
- Computer literacy
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)
- Just in Time (JIT) environment experience, preferred.
- Proficient organizational skills.
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.

Work Environment
- Personal protective equipment is required.
- Works closely with others, perhaps within a foot of another person.
- Must be able to match the pace of work to the speed of equipment.
- Are sometimes exposed to contaminants.
