Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized and energetic individual to serve as Cook County Regional Stores Supervisor. Under general direction, this position will plan and review storekeeping duties related to the Regional Central Stores Operation, regional messenger service, property control, purchasing, and state-owned vehicle functions. The position will provide input to supervisor relative to the revision of policy regarding stores, property control, purchasing, messenger services, automotive issuance, and maintenance of state-owned vehicles. This position will also serve as working supervisor of subordinate staff. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is hard working and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department's administrative services operations. Essential Functions

  • Serves as Cook County Regional Stores Supervisor
  • Provides input to supervisor relative to the revision of policy regarding stores, property control, purchasing, messenger services, automotive issuance, and maintenance of state-owned vehicles
  • Serves as working supervisor
  • Monitors commodities and equipment inventories
  • Monitors and reviews the maintenance and preparation of various clerical and accounting records relative to automotive reports and purchase request work orders
  • Plans and coordinates use of all temporary employment services for the unit
  • Drives to various locations to transport and deliver supplies when support staff need additional assistance
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school
  • Requires two years of supervisory experience in the keeping of stores and store records

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver's license.
