Senior Project Manager
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our consulting practice has an opening for a Sr Project Manager.
Client: Big Five Bank.
Terms: 6 month, with possibility to extend
Location: Hybrid- 1 day in office Downtown

Job Summary: The Sr Project Manager will have end-to-end accountability for the successful completion of technology projects. This role involves directing and coordinating team members in the creation of project deliverables, managing project scope, ensuring quality of deliverables, and overseeing governance controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Advanced knowledge and experience in managing large-scale projects of significant complexity and high value ($1MM-$5MM) with low to moderate risk.
- Expertise in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Clarity, MS Project, SharePoint repositories, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)).
- Knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Strong relationship management and consulting skills.
- Solid presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Rigorously manage project scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters, with an enterprise perspective.
Team Coordination:
- Direct and coordinate business and technology resources, user groups, internal and external consultants, contractors, and vendors.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit.
- Oversee governance controls to ensure projects meet all performance, quality, and compliance standards and conform to appropriate methodology.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work with Communications stakeholders to drive change and communications planning.
- Report administrative, financial metrics, and project status to Business Sponsors and related stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
Project Cost Management:
- Manage project budget up to the value of the approved funding.
- Work in close partnership with Finance and key stakeholders for monthly reporting requirements (i.e., Finance, compliance, Status, Issues Management).
Project Resource Management:
- Possess change management skills, including identifying people, processes, and technology implications to various end users/stakeholders and designing the change and implementation plan.
Project Risk Management:
- Identify and track project risks and develop mitigation plans to manage risks (e.g., technology, change management, procurement, business process management, requirements management).
Project Schedule Management:
- Deliver solutions on time.
Project Scope Management:
- Identify project drivers and constraints.
- Develop an understanding of organizational complexity to interact and engage with the appropriate matrix areas for the construction and delivery of the solution.
Project Quality Management:
- Establish effective project oversight and other governance bodies.
- Engage the appropriate stakeholders to support the direction of the project and enable superior customer experience.
Business Understanding:
- Possess an understanding of at least one line of business within the bank.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (nice to have).
- Project Management certification (must have).
- Valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (must have).
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in project management.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven ability to manage project scope and deliver high-quality results.
