Job Description:
The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, engineering & implementation of IT infrastructure & services for new & remodeled client buildings. Includes IT cabling & equipment rooms; data & voice network services; desktop computer & telephone equipment; other IT equipment or services. Also responsible for overseeing IT-related activities related to business acquisitions, including negotiating Go Live target dates.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional IT team that partners with the business & vendors to design/build/test IT infrastructure & services for new & remodeled client buildings.
- Ensure solutions are delivered on time, within budget & completely address clients' needs.
- Develop & manage detailed deployment plans, schedules, budgets, time & resource estimates; conduct project meetings & provide timely status reports.
- Ensure adherence to Industry Standards for all cabling, electrical & environmental quality standards; work with Construction to plan & build out needed Demarc, MDF & IDF spaces.
- Manage/direct the integration of vendor tasks; track/review vendor deliverables.
- Participate in the setup of systems & desktop equipment for conversions, Go Lives & acquisitions; may require travel & extended hours, including nights/weekends.
- Participate in the design and implementation of enterprise-wide technical projects, ensuring delivered solutions meet identified requirements.
- For acquisitions & relocations, manage the delivery of IT-related network, phone & personal computer hardware/software & services as well as the delivery of local & network attached printers, scanners & fax devices; desktop telephone sets; other miscellaneous equipment approved for use.
- Negotiate cabling contracts & manage the IT relationship for assigned vendors.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 8 years or more relevant experience. Additional experience and/or technical training may be considered in lieu of the formal educational requirements.
- Cisco environment experience
- Relevant industry and/or vendor certifications a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with MS Office and other productivity software to document and communicate with others.
- Ability to respond to questions and concerns from management and other employees.
- Ability to translate technical terms and concepts into business benefits and present to management and business units.
- Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company's insurance carrier.
