We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Club at Spruce Peak. The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in supervising and coordinating the preparation of food according to standards set by Spruce Peak and the Executive Chef. In addition, the Sous Chef, provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues.

Essential Job functions
· Assists in developing and implementing strategies for the Kitchen that support the achievement of Spruce Peak goals
· Assists in conducting periodic food inventories
· Initiates and oversees ordering of food and kitchen supplies
· Orders all supplies from various vendors and in some cases going directly to the growers for the freshest possible products
· Ensures all cuisine served to guests follow established guidelines for quantity, quality, appearance, temperature and flavor
· Supervises and coordinates the production of food according to menu specifications
· May perform Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Chef, or Cook duties as needed
· Responsible for inventories, purchasing
· Mentors staffs to be the best they can be
· Communicates effectively with the Front of House, Kitchen Staff and the Stewarding Team
· Orients employees to the department and resort and provides on-the-job training on job responsibilities
· Upholds all safety standards of Spruce Peak

Qualifications
· College degree and Culinary degree or ACF certification preferred
· 3-5 years of cooking experience in a fine-dining restaurant
· Ability to handle food, objects, products, and utensils
· Ability to bend, stoop and kneel
· Experience in high-volume establishments
· Excellent communication skills
· Technical proficiency (computer applications)
· Attention to detail
· Strong organizational and time management discipline
· Operate effectively in stressful situations
· Ability to adapt to changing needs
