Site Sustainability Lead

An exciting new role is being created at Zebulon, NC.to lead the site activities to improve Sustainability performance. The purpose of this role is to drive the required cross-functional activities for the Zebulon Site to deliver its overall sustainability goals in support of GSK’s sustainability targets.

  • Being the single point of accountability for the successful execution of cross-functional workstreams required to deliver the Zebulon site Sustainability strategy.

  • Managing workstream coordination, communication and delivery across the various departments and activities to support all site sustainability activity.

  • To liaise and coordinate with Central Sustainability activities to ensure we leverage resources as well as meet the targets and KPI’s for the Zebulon site.

  • To partner with SLT and on-site resources to highlight, champion, prioritize and own the necessary activities to achieve the Zebulon site sustainability objectives.

  • To manage the business change activities to ensure robust business processes and solutions are implemented to sustain any projects or activities implemented at site.

In this role you will:

  • Manages the overall site sustainability strategy – coordinating the various cross functional workstreams. Coaching and supporting workstream leads to identify/mitigate risks.

  • Single point of accountability for sustainability activities ensuring activities are resourced, planned and executed to deliver the overall objectives. Escalate any issues or risks through the appropriate governance and performance management forums.

  • Manages the various activities across the Zebulon site and ensures clear delivery plans are in place and being executed.

  • Connects regularly with workstream leads; and holds regular governance meetings to ensure visibility of key milestones.

  • Accountable for change management to ensure the business change plan is comprehensive and aligned to the site targets. Addressing any impacts of change prior to deployment

  • Ensures use of GPS principles and continuous improvement mindset as a fundamental way of working.

  • Liaises with central functions to assimilate and implement sustainability strategic initiatives and targets, as well as communicating Zebulon site strategy and project progress to leverage support as required.

Why you?

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering or related Technical Discipline

  • Program management exposure

  • Operational experience with working knowledge of change management methodology, GPS principles and Continuous Improvement.

  • Proficient in the use of MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel applications as well as Power Bi Applications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing (cGMP and QMS) working across multiple workstreams and unit operations in a highly collaborative environment.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

  • Master’s degree in science, Engineering or Technical Discipline

  • Passion for sustainability and biodiversity initiatives and methodology and ability to influence others.

  • Ability to work independently, operating in complex and ambiguous situations with high levels of uncertainty.

  • Demonstrated analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence in a matrix environment.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to facilitate interfaces with diverse audiences and synthesize the most critical insights from large amounts of information.

  • Demonstrated skills in leading and driving change to deliver improvement initiatives.
