Position Description

Job Summary

The Senior Research Technician safely performs advanced specialized technical functions involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning complex processes, equipment for gypsum boards ( fire, lightweight, mold and moisture) and finishing products.

Job objectives:

• Supports engineers and scientists in R&D team with their projects.
• Executes and/or supports commercial and manufacturing support requests.
• Manages and documents projects by creating concise and technically accurate summary reports effectively with supervision.
• Conducts hands-on experimental work and ensures all products are tested and approved according to the company SOP.
• Performs research and a variety of experiments, makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results.
• Identifies opportunities that could impact sustainability with innovative solutions and works with R&D, operations, and technical teams to develop and deploy.
• Understand/learn material properties which are critical to quality attributes.
• Plays an active role in lab management: safety aspects, equipment maintenance, 5S, lab audit preparation and action follow-up, lab postings, regular equipment checks etc.
• Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in an engineering, technical, or science-related field, or demonstrated equivalent with 4-7 years of related experience
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Lab/plant experience preferred
