PURPOSE:
Delivers Quality support and serves as a subject matter expert on control processes within the IT division. Provides complex control process development, process optimization and support for scaling up initiatives. Senior Quality Engineer ensures the quality of controls, processes, and programs; monitors adherence to CareFirsts policies and procedures as well as internal/external standards and regulations; and supports the organization in continuous improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports the IT division by providing Audit Coordination services for internal and external audits year-round.
- Performs various verification and validation functions to confirm compliance i.e. user access review validation, audit evidence verification reviews, etc.
- Supports the Customer Quality Questionnaire (CQQ) process across the IT division, driving improvement efforts for controls and processes improvements.
- Partnering with key stakeholders across IT and beyond to enable and implement improvements to existing processes and controls i.e. automation of evidence requests, developing a common controls framework, etc.
- Provides regular consulting and guidance to the IT Division on risk, compliance and control topics, partnering with Audit, Corporate Risk and/or Compliance as needed to progress issues raised.
- Assists in Quality Initiative activities to enhance rigor and structure of controls within the division.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and document processes, analyze gaps, and drive remediation accountability.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Licenses/Certifications Preferred:
- CRISC (Certified in Risk & Information Systems Control).
- CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor).
Experience: 5 years relevant process engineering experience or demonstrated ability to perform the functions at the level required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years IT General Controls knowledge and experience.
- 5+ years navigating SOC 1, SOC 2 compliance.
- Understanding of relevant security frameworks (e.g. NIST, HiTRUST, FedRAMP, ISO, etc.).
- Deep understanding of quality and risk management principles.
- Proficient in Waterfall, Hybrid and Agile environments.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to train and mentor others.
- Strong team-building skills, proactive mindset, and comprehensive verbal and written communication/presentation skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Ability to motivate others and foster a culture of continuous improvement and agile execution.
- Knowledge of process engineering methods and evaluation criteria.
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques.
- Knowledge of process mapping and documentation techniques.
- Ability to work with data and analytics.
- Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
Salary Range: $80,496 - $159,874
