This role involves defining project objectives, developing detailed project plans, managing resources, and ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements. You'll collaborate closely with our Security team, technology organizations, and business leaders to enhance our security posture through the effective implementation and communication of security controls, technologies, and best practices.At CARFAX, we believe in the power of teamwork and value in-person interactions so that we can collaborate and thrive together. This position will require 3 days in the office per week subject to change with future business needs.What you will be doing:
- Be responsible for all aspects of project management and agile development team ceremonies
- Develop and refine project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, risks, and contingency plans
- Lead and manage multiple cyber security projects from initiation through completion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, compliance, and business, to ensure project goals are met
- Manage dependencies across teams and collaborate with other project managers and team leaders to ensure overall project is completed within plan parameters
- Ensure a common understanding across stakeholders and team members by setting and managing expectations
- Gather, articulate, and represent project requirements for our agile software development teams
- Anticipate and measure project performance and progress using various quantitative tools and techniques to identify and quantify any variances, perform corrective actions, and communicate to stakeholders
- Proactively identify and plan for risks as well as implement approved actions and workarounds to mitigate risk events
- Lead cross-functional assessments for projects in the Concept phase and drive the conversion of conceptual ideas into actionable and clearly understood project deliverables and timelines
- Generate key project deliverables and facilitate their review
- Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, sometimes with C level executives to ensure communication is clear and teams are aligned
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant work experience focusing on project management
- 3-5 years of experience specifically in cyber security project management is desired
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex cyber security projects
- Ability to stay up to date with emerging cyber security trends and threats
- Knowledge of cyber security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, PCI-DSS)
- Familiarity with various security technologies and their implications (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption)
- Understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies in a cyber security context
- Experience managing remote project teams of 10 or more, or complex multi-disciplinary projects that involve multiple project teams
- Demonstrated ability to execute tasks that are sometimes vaguely defined using prior experience, analytical skills, and available research
- Thorough experience delivering projects using an agile methodology
- Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication skills across multiple job levels, with an aptitude for communicating with C-level executives
- Ability to mentor junior project managers in the use of proven project management tools and practices
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time (when allowed based on current restrictions)
- Certification in Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) a plus
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification such as the Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification through the Scrum Alliance
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite - Confluence/Jira
