The Senior Director of E-commerce Payments Platform, is a pivotal role in Red Cross ecommerce processes. Within the Red Cross eCommerce comprises the exchange of goods and services and the transmission of funds and data over the internet. E Commerce relies on technology and digital platforms, including websites, mobile apps and social media to receive incoming donations and payments. Beyond monitoring gateway performance and enhancing payment analytics, the Director plays a key role in setting the strategy and is a driving force in optimizing interchange fees. The role manages a talented team of Treasury Analysts, coordinate resources from internal and external partners, and actively participate in project teams to ensure successful credit card processing initiatives and all other e-commerce initiatives. Understanding the intricate web of e-commerce processes for all incoming payment channels and their interplay with our treasury and accounting functions will be central to your mission.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to help shape the e-commerce treasury strategy, bringing expertise in payment processing in e-commerce space.
  • Represent payments in ARC stakeholder/leadership meetings
  • Own and manage the overall payments roadmap.
  • Lead and manage the relationship with payments gateway vendor partners.
  • Stay on top of market trends in payments and help identify opportunities in adoption within ARC.
  • Lead the tiger team of experts from each system area within ARC for major payments initiatives within the Red Cross

Gateway Performance:

  • Review payment metrics and monitoring reports and fine-tune payment gateways, ensuring smooth and efficient transaction processing.
  • Resolve any issues promptly to maintain uninterrupted operations.

Payment Processing Excellence:

  • Dive into payment analytics, ensure collection of data, and extracting actionable insights from key performance metrics to drive strategic decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of our payment processing systems, covering gateways, mobile apps, digital wallets, etc.
  • Lead efforts to optimize interchange fees, reducing transaction costs while maximizing benefits.
  • Skillfully negotiate with payment service providers to secure advantageous fee structures

Resource Coordination and Management:

  • Manage and coordinate internal and external resources, including IT, Business Systems Integration, shared services, and vendor partners, to resolve challenges effectively.

Team Leadership:

  • Mentor and guide our Treasury Analysts, fostering their growth and ensuring they deliver exceptional results.
  • Define KPI’s across the team to determine measurable success metrics
  • Support analyst team to manage user access and the fraud prevention tool, guaranteeing top-notch performance.
  • Support analyst team to focus on analyzing payment-related expenses, monitoring budget-to-actual variances, and ensuring charge accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the ARC technical team to ensure successful implementation of payment features.

Project Management:

  • Act as a driving force in project teams, serving as the functional/technical expert for credit card processing, help coordinate resources and bring best practice to ensure the successful execution of initiatives.
  • Help facilitate the implementation of new funding and payment channels, including mobile apps, digital wallets, social media campaigns to name just a few. Fundraising & Training Services routinely evaluate new channels all the time and will contact e-commerce team to analyze the channel and identify implementation steps needed to execute.
  • Collaborate with LoB‘s on prioritizing payments related work.
  • Collaborate with the PM and agile team for successful delivery of project features on time with minimal errors.
  • Ensure defects related to payments are reviewed, prioritized, managed with the payments gateway vendor partner and ARC subsystems.

Treasury Operations Integration:

  • Ensure seamless integration of e-commerce processes with treasury, reconciliation, and accounting functions, contributing to precise financial reporting.
  • Work with Treasury Cash Management team to ensure proper mapping to bank account structure for payment deposits as well as payment refunds and returns.
  • Ensure that all incoming payments, refunds, returns, and cancellations processes are fully understood internally and working well during implementation.
  • Coordinate with Gift Processing team to ensure proper collection and recording of donor data

E Commerce Supplier Management:

  • Work with external suppliers, such as Amex, Visa, MasterCard, Braintree, PayPal, Stripe and all digital wallet organizations to ensure proper contract management, risk mitigation, and integration with existing Red Cross and non-Red Cross third party suppliers.
  • Conduct payments vendor evaluation for new payment rails.
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly review meetings with payments gateway vendor.
  • Coordinate Risk and InfoSec Assessments on all e-commerce suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is your foundation; an MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: You bring a minimum of 10 years of e-commerce payment expertise to the table, with a deep understanding of payment gateways, interchange fees, and fraud prevention.
  • Management Experience: With at least 7 years of leadership experience, you excel in guiding and inspiring your team to deliver outstanding results.
  • Strategic Mindset: Your ability to contribute to strategic discussions and drive strategic initiatives is a key asset.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics allows you to turn numbers into actionable strategies.
  • Versatility: Thriving in a dynamic e-commerce environment and adapting to emerging technologies is second nature.
  • Adventure Awaits: While travel is infrequent, you're ready for the occasional journey to make a significant impact.
  • Project Management Skills: You must be comfortable interacting with a broad cross section of colleagues internally and externally, keeping the team on track during implementations and coordinating resolution of issues as they crop up.

*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

PAY INFORMATION: The starting annual salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**
