Full Job Description

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best private schools, where students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with both a home and a school where they can thrive.  Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, MHS is fully endowed with the resources to ensure every student has opportunities and resources to succeed. The school has prepared almost 12,000 graduates and is expanding to serve more students.

MHS is seeking a Senior Admissions Processor for the School’s high volume Enrollment Management department.  This position plays a key role in the admissions process for students and their families.  The Senior Admissions Processor is the primary point of contact for student applicants and assists them in navigating a complex and emotional process for consideration for enrollment.  The Senior Admissions Processor is responsible for managing a high applicant volume caseload to ensure students’ enrollment applications are fully completed efficiently and accurately for an extensive and thorough evaluation for enrollment.  This position interacts extensively with students’ families and other student advocates, schools, government agencies, etc., as well as with other members of the Enrollment team to facilitate the completion of student admissions applications.  The Senior Admission Processor is responsible for communicating selection/non-selection decisions to students’ families.

Other duties of the position include compiling and maintaining records and files, accurate database management and data compilation, assisting with student enrollment preparation and participation in new student orientation.  The Senior Admissions Processor also is a functional representative at various MHS meetings and contributes towards continuous improvement initiatives.

MHS offers competitive compensation with excellent benefits (medical, vision & dental insurance, a 403b savings plan with employer contribution, paid time off, wellness benefits and free lunches).  The compensation for this role ranges from $23.46 to $31.42 an hour.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, or a related field. Or 8+ years of experience in the field.
  • Two or more years of experience working with complex processes and applications in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate complex information effectively and an ability to influence others.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Skilled with databases and Microsoft applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • An exceptional degree of accuracy and detailed orientation is required.
  • High degree of confidentiality and discernment is required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to multi-task dynamic priorities.
  • Experience working with families from disadvantaged settings a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are considered role models for MHS students.
  • Candidates should be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their current job responsibilities.
  • This is an on-site position.  Occasional weekend work may be required.
