Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and direction to accountants and lead accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial reports for Mutual Funds, Annuities and Life Products, Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) and 529 plans.
- Assist in the research and resolution of complex problems.
- Review, prepare and analyze complex portions of annual and semi-annual financial reports, including GAAP adjustments, notes, schedules of investments and supporting workpapers for accuracy.
- Manage the production of financial reports.
- Partner with internal and external business partners during the preparation of investment company financial reports and SEC or other regulatory filings to ensure deadlines are met.
- Analyze and resolve audit inquiries.
- Ensure that the financial reporting needs are met for new products or initiatives by researching and analyzing relevant reports.
- Update departmental training materials and conduct training on financial processes.
- Mentor, coach and provide work direction for team members
- Develop project plans, with leader guidance and support, to enhance processes or implement new ones using LEAN or other project management tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years experience in mutual fund accounting, reporting, tax, or related.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High standards for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized.
- Strong team-oriented skills and ability to show leadership.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines, highly motivated, and self-directed.
- Strong PC skills including Adobe Acrobat, MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FundSuite ArcReporting, and Invest One.
- LEAN enabled or similar project management skills.
- MBA or CPA.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC regulations.
