Food, Drink, and Culture Reporter - Join Our Team at The Press of Atlantic City!
The Press of Atlantic City is seeking a talented reporter to focus on trends in local food, drink, and culture along the Jersey Shore.
We're looking for a journalist with at least one year of experience at a professional media outlet, website, or newspaper. Your beat will encompass everything new in the local dining scene, from restaurant openings and closings to the evolving food landscape in Atlantic City and the surrounding areas. You'll also uncover niche, off-the-beaten-path spots that only locals know about, making you the go-to resource for Shore residents and visitors alike.
In addition to covering where the Jersey Shore eats and drinks, you'll also report on where it shops, keeping tabs on business openings and closings. Think of yourself as an influencer with the might of The Press of Atlantic City behind you. You'll need to hard some news experience, with the ability to use data, financial documents, and some government reporting into your storytelling.

What We're Looking For:
- Creative Storyteller: You have a knack for crafting compelling narratives that resonate with readers across platforms.
- Community Connector: You excel at building sources and engaging with diverse communities, uncovering stories that others might miss.
- Adaptable Journalist: You're comfortable with feedback, able to pivot quickly, and have experience covering fast-paced news.
- Social Media Savvy: You know how to leverage social media to both find and promote stories.
- Hands-On Content Creator: You can shoot basic photos and videos, adding visual elements to your storytelling.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least one year of reporting experience at a professional media outlet, with a preference for those who have covered food, culture, business, or hard news.
- Proven ability to write engaging, well-sourced stories under deadline pressure.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and multimedia content creation.
- Familiarity with AP style, strong writing skills, and the ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the minimum liability insurance required by state law.
