Job Summary
This is a part-time 20 hours/week (50% effort) appointment.
The School of Social Work seeks a candidate to provide part time assistance with recruitment and admissions support in the Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management.
Responsibilities*
Recruitment
- Serve as a lead planner for recruitment efforts focused on increasing the number of underrepresented students applying to and matriculating into the Master of Social Work program
- Participate in recruitment efforts including in-person presentations, attendance at graduate fairs/conferences, liaison with university leaders, meet with admitted/prospective students (in-person, zoom, phone)
Admissions
- Evaluate applications for admission
- Attend Admission Review Team meetings
- Assist with pre-admission interviews
Required Qualifications*
- Master of Social Work degree
- 6+ years reviewing graduate school applications
- Demonstrated experience in graduate level recruitment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent problem-solving abilities, ability to understand and improve upon complex processes, strong attention to detail, and ability to coordinate multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials and situations
- Ability to travel for recruitment events as needed
- Ability to work some evenings for recruitment and school events
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days in Ann Arbor, MI
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience working in higher education
- Demonstrated knowledge of the University of Michigan School of Social Work MSW program
