As a Public Affairs Specialist II here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the company's public affairs strategies. You will help monitor political media and public opinion and be responsible for understanding their impacts to support development of successful advocacy communications and campaigns.
You will report directly to our Director of Public Affairs, and you'll work out of our Washington, DC location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will have a significant impact on Honeywell's advocacy efforts and its ability to navigate the complex landscape of policies and regulations in the Energy & Sustainability sector. By assisting in the development of public affairs strategies, this role will contribute to Honeywell's advocacy efforts and ability to anticipate and respond to changes in political and regulatory environments.
This position will support our Fluorine Products (FP) business through working on advocacy campaigns that support legislative, regulatory and business compliance needs. This role reports into the FP business management team and will work on various public affairs, issue management, government relations, and regulatory support efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support development of key advocacy messaging, talking points, and collaterals for legislative and regulatory audiences, highlighting the positive impact of HON productsat State and Federal levels.
- Support development and management of digital advocacy campaigns and paid media content to amplify key messages
- Support development and implementation of strategic communications campaigns to differentiate HON solutions in the marketplace
- Provide crisis and issue management support to address and mitigate potential policy or regulatory challenges
- Help identify, coordinate, and staff policy and regulatory-focused speaking engagements and conferences to ensure unified voice and bolster advocacy efforts
- Conduct research and keep the team informed of trends to identify and address potential issues proactively, or to identify new opportunities
- Coordinate and support communication efforts with key associations to strengthen partnerships
- Assist in branding and market positioning to enhance HON's visibility and reputation with key stakeholders
- Support development and execution of thought leadership initiatives to improve executive positioning and brand visibility
- Organize and manage Lobbyist Toolkits and other advocacy communications materials for customers to support their efforts
- General support for external advocacy, legislative, and regulatory communications, and support for internal leadership updates
Washington DC, the annual base salary range is $110,000 - $120,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE
- 5+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of policymaking and regulatory rulemaking processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
