Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking a Platform Engineer to support one of our major government clients at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA.
Location: On-Site Means they will be working at the Ryan Center on Langley AFB, Hampton VA.
Rate: $100-112/hr
Must have an active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance prior to start date.
Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 10% travel.
Overview
- Developer platform services and APIs that scale in production.
- Building and sustaining production services using Cloud Infrastructure Providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure; building and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines.
Experience
- Requires minimum 5 years of platform engineering / support.
- Three (3) years of experience developing and operating containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Cloud Foundry or Kubernetes
- Requires prior experience working in a collaborative environment requiring frequent teaming and written / verbal communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing, reporting, and facilitating certification of access for all in-scope resources (including PaaS, AWS, Azure, CSS managed applications, tools, and systems).
- Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND.
- Prior experience deploying Platform as a Service (PaaS)
- Automating platform management at enterprise scale.
- Experience developing platform APIs that make common software operations scalable and repeatable.
- Experience building continuous delivery and integration (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience responding to software outages and executing postmortem reviews including root cause analyses.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts.
- Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency.
- Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors.
