Loudoun Water has an immediate opening for a Plant Maintenance Program Manager. which is instrumental in ensuring the proper functioning of Loudoun Water Treatment Systems. This role will lead the overall maintenance teams including mechanics, electricians, and HVAC technicians. Experience in the design and construction of wastewater treatment facilities is preferred due to the ongoing long term system expansions at Loudoun Water.
Essential functions of the Plant Maintenance Program Manager include:
- Identifies current and future plant maintenance requirements by coordinating with operations, plant engineer, tradesmen, asset management, and other stakeholders to understand maintenance requirements.
- Provides leadership and direction to develop short and long-range plans for departmental programs, aligned with the Loudoun Water vision and the best practices standards of the industry.
- Identifies requirements for an annual maintenance budget, preparing recommendations for capital and operating expenditures, scheduling expenditures, and anticipating long-term budget needs.
- Designs, implements and modifies reliability centered preventive and corrective maintenance programs by reviewing maintenance reports and statistics, by reviewing quality control reports, and inspecting operating machines, equipment and systems for conformance with operational standards.
- Protects Loudoun Water staff by maintaining a safe environment and culture of safety. Coordinates with Loudoun Water Safety and Training Departments to advance team training.
- Prepares and approves specifications for contracted purchase of replacement parts and new equipment and systems for all areas of the treatment plant.
- Maintains maintenance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and evaluating employees and by planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
- Oversees capital improvement and replacement projects; reviews project specifications; analyzes design, Loudoun Water requirements and ensures maintenance goals are met by ensuring completion of preliminary and final "punch lists" for construction projects.

Requirements: BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, or related field; at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the design, construction, and operation of wastewater treatment facilities; and ability to lead/manage people from diverse backgrounds demonstrated through direct management of staff or teams/stakeholders/consultants. Eligibility for or licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred.
