Job Summary
Disability and Accessibility Support Services (DASS) seeks a dedicated and dependable Student Assistant to support a fellow student in a physics lab setting. This role involves assisting with writing, note-taking, communication, and documentation tasks to ensure students can effectively engage in and complete lab activities and assignments.
Must be available to work Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm
Responsibilities*
- Writing Assistance: Assist the student in writing lab reports, assignments, and other required written communication, adhering to academic standards and guidelines.
- Documentation Support: Help the student manage and organize lab data, ensuring accurate and coherent documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the student to understand their specific needs and provide tailored support.
- Communication: Maintain consistent communication with the student and lab instructor to align on tasks and deadlines.
- Confidentiality: Protect the privacy and confidentiality of the student's academic work and personal information.
- Additional Support: Perform other related duties as needed to ensure the student's successful participation in the lab.
Required Qualifications*
- Be a registered University of Michigan-Flint student and have a desire to create an equitable and inclusive environment.
- Familiarity with Physics
- Strong communication skills
Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
