Job Title: Parts Room Assistant
Reports to: Sr. Parts Room Coordinator
Key Internal Partners: Maintenance Techs, Maintenance Supervisors, Plant Controller, Technical Services Department, Engineering Department
Key External Partners: Suppliers, Manufacturers, Fabrication Shops
Location: Nampa, Idaho
Job Summary:
The Parts Room Assistant position is responsible for supporting the Sr. Parts Room Coordinator receiving and verifying maintenance parts and all consumable Items for the Facility. This position also maintains the spare parts room, including general inventory, with the goal of expediting all repairs and limiting production down-time when possible.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks:
· Manage inventory of all maintenance parts and consumables (production, maintenance, quality, shipping, etc.)
o Maintain minimum levels of inventory to eliminate downtime
o Assist maintenance personnel with finding and identifying parts, and training them to do the same on maintenance management software
o Update and maintain parts standard in CMMS.
o Update and maintain stockroom organization and 5s.
o Perform cycle counts to ensure compliance with inventory management program
o Assist with Bi-annual inventory.
· Manage incoming and outgoing shipments:
o Verify that incoming orders are correct and receive them into stock
o Deliver items to their designated areas.
o Ship of small packages for the plant
· Responsible for cross-functional team interactions and open communication:
o Participates in the methods meeting and other meetings as needed.
o Consider the requirements for industrial and food safety in all job aspects.
o Respect good practices in safety, food safety, hygiene and quality.
· All other duties as assigned
Key Performance Indicator (KPI):
· Stock rotation management
· Accuracy of the CMMS
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION
· High School Diploma or GED is required.
· Some education beyond high school is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
· 1 or more years of forklift driving experience
· 2 or more years of experience in a customer service role is required
· Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and an ERP system is highly desirable
SKILLS
· Knowledge of principals and methods of purchasing and inventory management
· Knowledge of machines, tools and parts (mechanical & electrical), including their uses.
· Technical knowledge of food processing equipment is a plus.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
· Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers
· Ability to make seek input and make timely and well-informed decisions
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to communicate proficiently in English verbally and in writing (including email)
· Available to perform training and inventory activities outside of normal work hours and on weekends when needed
· High level of autonomy
· Ability to become forklift certified
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
· Must be able to climb a ladder
· Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day and sit or stand for extended periods of time
· Must be able to wear PPE
