L.A. LIVE’s Peacock Theater hosts more than 120 music, family, dance and comedy acts, award shows, televised productions, conventions, and product launches with more than 500,000 guests passing through the doors annually. 

Located across the street from Crypto.com Arena, the 7,100-seat theater opened in October 2007 with six sold out shows featuring the Eagles and The Chicks. Peacock Theater has since hosted concerts by artists like Alan Jackson, Charlie Wilson, Juan Gabriel, Aretha Franklin, Ed Sheeran, John Fogerty, Gabriel Iglesias, Marc Anthony, John Legend, Neil Young, Kelly Clarkson, Rush, Yanni, Nicki Minaj, Juanes, as well as The “American Idol” Finale shows, Michael Jackson’s This is It, Straight Outta Compton, The Hunger Games and Twilight movie premieres and more.  
 
Peacock Theater is also home to the Primetime Emmy Awards and BET Awards, and has previously hosted the American Music Awards, ESPYs, Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Radio Disney Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Movie Awards and a pair of Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies.

Job Summary:

The role of Operations Utility I is to be the driving force in maintaining the Theaters’ appearance, presentation, and building function. A member of this team must be capable of effectively prioritizing tasks and ability to identify and balance urgent event needs against standard day-to-day maintenance. A high level of self-sufficiency and flexible disposition are required when faced with last minute changes and requests. By actively advising management in best practices, this team will foster an ongoing dialogue in the continuous improvement of both internal and external department communication.

Essential Functions:

  • General Maintenance Duties
    • Repairs to all facility seats, wall panels, restroom partitions, toilet paper & paper towel dispensers, ceiling tiles, replacing cover plates, outlet switches, etc.
    • Hardware maintenance
    • Tile repair and replacement
    • Patching and painting
    • Hanging pictures/artwork
    • Assist with furniture/office moves, large meeting and event set-ups
    • Support in trash compactor/recycling operations when needed
    • General plumbing and the unclogging drains, toilets, etc.
    • General repair of sinks, toilets, urinals
    • Assist with office moves and relocations
    • Other work as required by Management
  • Presence & Communication
    • Support the daily management of the rotating Operations team's cell phone and email account
    • Completing daily recaps at the end of each shift, added/last-minute tasks, and any jobs still in progress that need to be transitioned to a fellow team member
  • Event Duties
    • Overseeing accurate installation & removal of seats when scheduled
    • Reviewing production notes and administering facility & event set-up including furniture, tables, chairs, pipe & drape etc.
    • On-call to Production Management during event load-ins supporting operational requests
    • Barricade installations & removal
    • Décor installations and removal
    • Seat repairs as directed by Guest Services before event doors
    • Post event entire building reset to standard configuration

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency
  • A minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time and have the ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Capable of working in in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of day to-day tasks
  • Ability to work well with fellow team members
  • Ability to work long irregular hours for an extended period of time as dictated by events and schedule (including nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Organizational skills and proven experience in working in a busy multi-use facility
  • Ability to perform work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Must be willing to join Local 501 Union

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enrollment or Completion of Trade School Courses and/or JAC preferred
  • Work history at a seated venue or arena.
  • Willing to obtain forklift certification

Pay Scale: $28.65
