Nursing Program Manager

Job Purpose:Leads Supply Chain Management efforts related to the introduction of new clinical products into the DUHS.

Leads effort to coordinate with Supply Chain and Clinical staff in the identification of substitute products to ensure acceptable medical/surgical supplies are available to Hospital medical staff at all times.

Leads Standardization Teams to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives.

Provides supportive consultation and leadership to the DUHSin the procurement and use of medical products and surgical supplies. Responsible for developing and leading cross functional teams involved in the investigation and evaluation of new and/or existing medical/surgical products. Receives all new medical/surgical product requests.

Responsibilities

  1. Leads Supply Chain Management efforts related to the introduction of new clinical products into the DUHS.
  2. Leads effort to coordinate with Supply Chain and Clinical staff in the identification of substitute products to ensure acceptable medical/surgical supplies are available to Hospital medical staff at all times.
  3. Leads Standardization Teams to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives.
  4. Provides supportive consultation and leadership to the DUHS in the procurement and use of medical products and surgical supplies.
  5. Develops and leads cross-functional teams involved in the investigation and evaluation of new and/or existing medical/surgical products.
  6. Develops communication plans and product introduction plans to ensure a smooth introduction of new products into the.
  7. Maintains Product Roadmaps for key suppliers to ensure clinical staff have access to information on future clinical technologies.
  8. Acts as primary liaison between Supply Chain Management and the medical staff to communicate the issues of substitute supplies, vendor changes to existing medical supplies, and the introduction of new products.
  9. Assesses and validates that each product and/or procedure standardization process reaches successful completion and develops a reporting mechanism to track the achievement of annualized cost savings.
  10. Analyzes and communicates all opportunities for cost savings to the designated department, committee members, and/or manager.
  11. Facilitates the procurement of evaluation products. Assures that evaluation products are sufficiently stocked in the appropriate units and assures that evaluation forms are complete with the correct information.
  12. Coordinates with designated Supply Chain Management staff to follow the contract review process to assure contract compliance and to achieve the best possible cost.
  13. Assists Supply Chain Management staff members in the identification of substitute products to ensure acceptable medical/surgical supplies are available to Hospital medical staff at all times.
  14. Educates physicians, nurses, and other medical Hospital personnel to principles of inventory control and Supply Chain Management practices.
  15. Attends annual Hospital and departmental fire/safety and infection control training and maintains current knowledge of safety procedures within the Hospital and department.
  16. Performs in accordance with DUHS competencies/behaviors.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Minimum Requirements

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field required.
  2. RN with 3-5 year's experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  3. Previous management experience is highly preferred.
  4. Proven knowledge base of materials, supplies, and equipment within clinical departments.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  6. Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage time accordingly.

Education:BSN (Bachelor of Nursing) Required.

Experience:3 years of nursing experience.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification: Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina is required. BLS required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Supervision and Scheduling.
