Position: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Primary Care
Job description
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a Primary Care office in the west suburbs to provide in-clinic care, and may include rounding local nursing homes. Previous EMR experience required. This is a part time position that may transition to full time, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and their medical records
- Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
- Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
- Propose treatments for chronic diseases
- Prescribe medications
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
- Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention
- Oversee patients' overall health
- Promote good health practices
- Advance professional knowledge
Skills
- Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
- Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong ethics
- Team spirit with a positive attitude
- Patience and compassion
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
- EMR experience
- Must have active Illinois NURSE PRACTITIONER and DEA
