The Opportunity
Suppose you want to effect change through research and consulting and have experience with community engagement, facilitation, evaluation, project management, and/or strategic and program planning. In that case, we encourage you to explore our Consultant role. At RDA, Consultants work as members of project teams on a wide variety of issues including, but not limited to, community engagement, evaluations, planning projects, juvenile and criminal justice, behavioral health, social services, workforce development, community health, and many other disciplines. Experience with intersectional and public safety net systems, quantitative analysis, and project management is strongly preferred for this opportunity.
What You Will Achieve in Your First Year
As a Consultant, you will be at the center of our multidisciplinary teams, employing your analytical and creative thinking skills to deliver innovative and meaningful results for our clients. You will work on multiple consulting projects simultaneously, collaborating with others with different backgrounds and skill sets. The Consultant position is at an intermediate level in our consulting career path and can lead to other employment levels. Here is a sample of what you can expect to experience and accomplish in your first year:
Lead Community Engagement, Facilitation, and Outreach Efforts
- Facilitate focus groups, key informant interviews, town halls, public meetings, and other community engagement and outreach activities.
- Contribute to developing outreach and facilitation guides, strategic plans, grant applications, and/or needs assessments responsive to clients' needs and goals and present recommendations that help them shift from research to action.
- Analyze and report on data gathered through community engagement activities.
Collaborate with and Advise Clients and Their Stakeholders
- Work directly with RDA Consulting's clients to provide support and develop collaborative working relationships.
- Co-facilitate client stakeholder work sessions and advisory committee meetings.
Turn Research into Meaningful Insights and Solutions
- Conduct and lead quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, including drafting and managing analytic plans; finalizing data collection tools; spearheading survey design, focus group engagement, key informant interviewing; and performing descriptive and statistical analyses.
- Conduct and lead the development of evaluation reports, strategic plans, and/or needs assessments responsive to client's needs and goals and present recommendations that help them shift from research to action.
Support RDA Consulting's Organizational and Team Development
- Work as a team member with other staff on multiple projects and efforts.
- Consistently meet or exceed billable targets.
- Mentor and train peers.
What You Will Bring to RDA Consulting
- Bilingual Spanish speaker strongly desired
- Project management experience
- Strong research, evaluation, and quantitative skills and experience
- Community engagement, outreach, and facilitation experience
- Demonstrated experience conducting and reporting on analyses for a variety of audiences
- Honed time management skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience in being a quick learner and self-directed team player
- Commitment to social and economic justice
- Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse communities

WORK LOCATION OF THIS POSITION
RDA Consulting is a hybrid office environment. Many roles offer the option to work remotely or at our Oakland, CA headquarters. The decision to allow remote work is based on the requirements of each individual position. If a non-Bay Area candidate is selected for this position, they must be willing to travel and attend meetings in the Pacific Time Zone as needed to support client and organizational goals.
