GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager of Supply Chain Planning leads the Supply Chain Planning teams that develops inventory planning models and forecasts to drive purchasing decisions and ensure optimal inventory and stock levels. Additionally, this role is responsible for providing planning expertise as a member of, or advisor to, Supply Chain Planners and maintains a client focus on service delivery and an enterprise-wide view of the categories under management. This role collaborates with senior internal stakeholders and Supply Chain personnel. The role ensures an integrated plan for each material category, in alignment with strategic and operational priorities, which requires significant collaboration with senior leaders across the company. The role is also responsible for compliance with core planning standards, financial forecasting/reporting and ensuring planning data is maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, coach and mentor high performing teams, enabling maximum achievement. Champion ongoing training, exceptional resources and clear performance objectives that support effective bidding and negotiation strategies as well as optimal contract structure and finalization and ease of purchase.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Supply Chain Planning to acquire and deploy resources based on functional and business partner needs. Make recommendations and lead business case development for tool and system enhancements related to inventory strategy and supply chain planning.
  • Identify opportunities using data analytics to add value to Supply Chain and business partner practices. Lead collaboration efforts with Supply Chain and business partners to deploy analytics to make informed business decisions and improve business results. Continually assesses and refines models and analyses for accuracy and usefulness.
  • Implement the framework, metrics, and goals for continuous improvement. To achieve process excellence and stay current with industry innovations, identify and drive, in collaboration with the department leadership and lead practices throughout the organization. Communicate initiatives and improvements to business partners as appropriate. Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities to optimize Supply Chain collaboration with all end to end projects and planned work.
  • Lead and support emergent materials issues to continuously improve and adapt inventory strategy to support company initiatives. Identify and lead problem resolution when aggregated inventory levels are not achieving business plan objectives. Utilize Lean methods to determine root cause of material risk and apply immediate and long term counter measures to mitigate risk.
  • Manages the inventory strategy for the company (up to $400m in annual spend), collaboration efforts with Materials & Logistics Management and business partners to improve planning and forecasting processes for inventoried materials. Identify and implements leading practices for inventory strategy, demand planning and forecasting. Establish appropriate metrics and dashboards for inventory strategy and material risk.
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, dashboards, and presentations to help communicate messages effectively to key stakeholders and leaders. Identify and lead implementation of leading practices for SC analytics.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to be persuasive and build credibility internally and externally.
  • Ability to think clearly and make logical connections; analyze available facts & observations to form a plan.
  • Advanced project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders, customers and external providers.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite, with advanced capabilities in Excel.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Understanding of end to end supply chain, and business processes.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain or related field. In lieu of a degree, candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED with 4 years of working experience related to the position.

EXPERIENCE

  • 7 - 10 years Experience in supply chain, Business, Operations, Planning.
