Job Summary
Comcast is seeking a Procurement Manager, to help build out the software and systems to enable the next generation of video services. In this role, you will work in a highly collaborative environment with key stakeholders from varied expertise, and be expected to help coalesce that knowledge and insight into a cohesive plan for both the short-term and long-term success of the Comcast Video infrastructure. As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day activities of the Procurement department. Primarily responsible for the external procurement, sourcing, and contracting of goods and services. Implements department procedures and objectives. Assists in creating and implementing department budget. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert and provides guidance to peers and teammates as required. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, category management experience, and a commercial mindset. Ability to engage cross-functionally to understand the needs of business unit leadership, identify and evaluate potential partners and suppliers, draft and issue requests for proposals, lead negotiations, identify and execute on cost reduction opportunities, and overall category management.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Selects and manages new and existing suppliers through competitive solicitation and direct negotiations. Manages vendor/supplier relationships and interfaces with key executives on supplier issues.
- Establishes procedures to accomplish procurement of a variety of materials in a cost-effective manner and ensures results through consistent monitoring of staff, suppliers and procedures.
- Coordinates and reports procurement activities, plans and consults with key representatives across several departments.
- Assesses market conditions that may effect procurements continually.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Contract, technical, and/or procurement experience are beneficial
- Extensive abilities in the development of business models, financial analysis, and statistical modeling

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
