nVent, located in Alexandria, MN, is adding a Maintenance Technician to our team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position significantly contributes to manufacturing operations through responsive and effective improvements and repairs to manufacturing equipment.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

In this position, you will get to:

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all molding, stamping, assembly, packaging and auxiliary machines
  • Perform preventative and autonomous maintenance on equipment
  • Make improvements and updates to existing equipment
  • Initiate and implement cost reduction and continuous improvement projects
  • Effectively use Mapcon to document all work performed on equipment
  • Participate in design review activities for new and existing equipment
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned

YOU HAVE:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair production machinery; which includes electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Capable for reading and interpreting electrical schematic PLC programs and mechanical blueprints
  • Ability to operate various shop equipment and hand tools to perform repairs
  • Knowledge of world-class manufacturing practices
  • General knowledge of Injection molding machines operation and processes
  • General knowledge of machine controls
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of computers as well as Microsoft Office, Mapcon and PLC's
  • 3-5 years manufacturing maintenance experience
