What's the job?
- The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for maximizing the availability of all plant facilities and equipment in order to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Requires broad technical skills to include mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as well as strong capability in the areas of planning, organizing, scheduling, cost control and leadership
- This position requires the ability to communicate and work effectively at all levels in the organization
- Plan and organize all equipment repairs and preventative maintenance routines.
- Direct the daily activities of maintenance supervision and skilled maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with work systems and maintenance procedures and to provide leadership in safety, quality, housekeeping and cost reduction.
Required Qualifications
What do you bring?
- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
- At least 5 years' experience leading a successful maintenance department in a unionized mfg. facility(preferred).
- Professional experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
- Experience with P&ID, Equipment Layout Drawings, design optimization & troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement toolsets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
