The Machinist be responsible for operating machinery in a production environment for specific projects with limited supervisory.
As a Machinist, you will be responsible for:
- Setting-up and operating special purpose equipment, conventional (lathe and/or mill), and/or numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers for fabrication of metallic and non-metallic parts that hold to the high quality machine standards required within the organization.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls as required.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent and 2+ yrs of machining experience
- Must be able to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, drill presses, vertical and horizontal mills (floor model)
- Ability to travel up to 30% and work shift schedule when needed
- Be able to demonstrate skill level (indicate part, turn OD's, and qualify ID and OD) on at least two machines; CNC mill, CNC lathe, and NC (figure feed rates), manual mill, brouch, drill press, rework lathe/press lathe.
- Have good interpersonal skills, inclusive working style and able to effectively communicate
