We are launching brand new products and product lines at National Grid, and as a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer, you'll be there at the inception! Our products go through a validation phase, where we answer the question: "What is the business problem we are trying to solve", and together with your product/design/UX/business counterparts, you'll be responsible for narrowing the scope, defining a solution, and working with your team to solve it.

We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-orientedLead Full Stack Software Engineer for our US Gas business unit.This position can be located inWaltham, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Hicksville, NY, or Syracuse, NY (candidates may also reside in either Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). What you'll do

As a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer, you'll be joining a team creating the next generation of gas retail choice management software. By working closely with other software engineers, product managers, UI/UX designers, and key stakeholders across the organization, you'll help deliver the best digital experiences for our users. You'll actively contribute to the success of the team by innovating, participating in technical discussions, and contributing to the development of products that will transform the organization. Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Createhighly performant cloud-native software for internal and external users
  • Provide support and mentorship to the engineering team
  • Collaborate with teams on other products and business units on technology
  • Monitortechnical capabilities across product teams
  • Work on system/software design and development

About you

  • Proficient in C# for backend engineering
  • Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript with experience in React
  • 7+ years of experience in software development as a developer
  • Experience building C# applications, preferably hosting in Azure and using a React front end.
  • Ability to grow technically and maintain a customer-first mentality, the motivation to take the initiative to own and resolve issues
  • Solid communication and documentation skills
  • Agile development experience
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Our organization follows a hybrid work structure in our service territory (NY & MA and adjacent states) where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration. We work with our employees to foster a flexible work schedule.

Salary

Dowstate NY $152,000 - $215,000 a year

Massachusetts $142,000 - $200,000 a year

Upstate NY$127,000 - $179,000 a year

Salary is commensurate with experience and location

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
