Lead Product Manager (Vivint Technology)
As a Lead Product Manager in Vivint Technology (VT), you will oversee a team of product managers. This role involves overseeing multiple product(s) and/or capabilities, defining the strategic direction, driving innovation, and ensuring that our products deliver exceptional user experiences. You will manage high-impact projects, lead cross-functional teams, resolve complex challenges, and work closely with product leadership to align product strategies with the company’s long-term objectives.
This role demands strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to influence and collaborate across departments to deliver innovative and user-centric products and experiences.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for your products and capabilities, aligned with the overall product and company objectives
- Develop and execute product roadmaps to achieve strategic goals and ensure alignment across departments
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
- Facilitate team collaboration and ensure effective communication among product team members and stakeholders
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to provide constructive feedback to team members
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, and business stakeholders to align on product priorities, ensure seamless product development, and launch
- Act as the primary point of contact between product management and other departments, ensuring alignment on priorities and deliverables
- Coordinate with UX/UI designers to ensure a user-centric approach in product development
Product Development:
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality product
- Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements to create high-level requirements and objectives
- Guide product managers to create detailed product specifications
Product Lifecycle Management:
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, including planning, development, launch, and retirement strategies
- Monitor and assess product performance post-launch, making data-driven decisions for product iterations and enhancements
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices throughout the product lifecycle
Performance Monitoring:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate product success and user satisfaction
- Regularly analyze product performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and new opportunities
- Prepare and present performance reports to stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including product and engineering leadership, customers, and business partners
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to gather feedback, communicate and demo product updates, and align on strategic initiatives and priorities
- Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to engage stakeholders in the product development process
Performance Management:
- Implement processes for continuous improvement in product management practices and team performance
- Set clear objectives and goals for your product management team, aligning them with organizational priorities
- Address performance issues promptly and implement strategies for team and individual development
Defining Product Vision:
- Articulate a clear and compelling product vision that inspires and aligns the team and stakeholders
- Conduct market research and customer interviews to refine the product vision and ensure it meets user needs
- Continuously iterate on the product vision based on feedback and changing market conditions
Skills/Characteristics:
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Strategic vision and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- High level of expertise in product management and market analysis
- Exceptional communication and organizational skill
- Ability to formulate product opinions, make key decisions, and defend those decisions
Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in product management, with significant experience in a leadership role
- Experience managing teams and driving product strategy
