The Global Head Procurement W&D develops the category and supplier strategy in close alignment with senior business stakeholders, plans and steers category initiatives and projects, manages supply and business risk, and influences critical strategic business decisions. Supplier relationship management, performance measurement, compliance and risk management and market knowledge in logistics are essential for this role. The Global Head Procurement W&D is accountable for the category spend, realizes year-on-year productivity and cost savings opportunities, actively manages and challenges demand and implements process efficiencies in close collaboration with business stakeholders. This role requires leadership skills, strong business acumen and distinct communication skills with senior business stakeholders and top management.
Your responsibilities will include:
Implement category strategy and create value for the organization:
- Planning, organizing, and managing strategic sourcing projects such as Collaborative Network Optimization, Control Tower set up, Hub Assessments, Carrier Rationalization, in line with the supply chain strategic programs and projects.
- Develop and execute strategic procurement category management and develop category strategy plans to continuously improve through innovative solutions, strategic sourcing, supplier partnership and value engineering.
- Develop business partnerships to co-create strategic multiyear plans, goal setting and target alignment to thrive supplier collaborations and achieve ambitious business objectives.
Demand management:
- Ensure the right balance between business needs, quality and cost objectives in line with the overall Sandoz strategy.
- Working with stakeholders to identify the most cost-effective ways to deliver business objectives.
Manage relationships with stakeholders
- Building up strong and trustful relationships with key stakeholders. Be the go-to-partner for Procurement, Supplier and Market relevant questions.
- Understanding the stakeholders needs, landscape, challenges and objectives and demonstrating political astuteness across business structures and networks.
What you'll bring to the role:
- University/Advanced level degree needed.
- Master's Degree/other advanced degree in the Economics, Finance or related areas is preferred.
- English (excellence in speaking and writing), additional languages desirable.
- +10 years of relevant business experience, preferably >10 years of experience in Procurement or other related experience within the pharmaceutical, FMCG or logistics industry, preferably in category management, supplier management, or related area, with a focus in the logistics domain.
- Lean Six Sigma background is a strong asset
- Business acumen and analytical thinker
- Strong collaboration, negotiation, coaching skills
- Strong project management or other leadership experience.
