Position Description
The Tax Department at HCC/CCI offers tax consulting and planning services related to the family’s various holdings including investments in privately held operating companies, real estate, investment funds, and publicly traded securities. This position reports to the VP of Tax and will provide administrative support to the Tax department. The duties include: assisting team members with coordinating logistics and scheduling of meetings and department activities; managing general office duties; helping with preparation of presentation materials; researching various topics to support the team’s activities; sorting/scanning incoming mail; assisting with outgoing mailings; processing expense reports; completing membership and license renewals; scheduling interviews and assisting with on-boarding new department employees and performing general problem solving. The role will interact frequently with professionals across the organization and third-party service providers. Special projects will be assigned regularly to assist the executive and department teams.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently complete tasks accurately and timely 
  • Ask questions if a task or project requires clarification 
  • Research various topics specific to the activities of the department 
  • Screen calls and greets guests appropriately
  • Perform recordkeeping and data entry projects
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting executive level teams
  • Strong performance of administrative support duties 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to work independently on a broad variety of projects, yet being a committed team player
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • High detail-oriented standard for work product
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously 
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills; ability to work seamlessly with a variety of personalities, communication styles, and preferences
  • Comfortable with taking direction, receiving feedback, and offering commentary
  • Asks questions when tasks require clarification
  • Team-oriented, enthusiastic, positive attitude
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism in work and interactions
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
