Job Description
Virtus ETF Solutions (VES), an affiliate of Virtus Investment Partners, operates a multi-manager ETF platform, providing investors access to differentiated investment capabilities from select subadvisors. We are seeking an experienced analyst with ETF exposure and product development experience to join our dynamic product development team at Virtus ETF Solutions. This is an opportunity for an exceptional research and analysis professional to make a significant impact on the ETF product line at Virtus. This will be achieved through the introduction of new products that can play a meaningful role in helping investors achieve better risk-adjusted returns.
As the ETF Capital Markets Specialist, you will be responsible for representing the Virtus ETF team and supporting ETF client engagement and developing and maintaining strategic relationships across the ETF capital markets ecosystem. This position will partner with client facing colleagues to pro-actively represent ETFs and any investment related issues as well as increase the visibility of the ETF division across Virtus. This role will be based in our NYC office and will have a hybrid work schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships across ETF Capital Markets including Authorized Participants (Aps), Market Makers, Exchanges, Third Party Technology and Data Vendors.
- Develop a strategic partnership engagement plan across all key liquidity providers including ETF trading desks, Aps, Market Makers, etc.
- Manage trading and Portfolio manager relationships including coordinating accurate and timely communication of changes across the trading division.
- Manage launch protocol for new ETF products including initial seed strategy, lead market maker selection process, Exchange listing venue, etc.
- Deputy portfolio management responsibilities in connection with management of the index-based ETFs, with an emphasis on limiting tracking error and capital gains mitigation.
- Collaborates internally with Compliance & Legal to clarify and resolve issues and determine the best method for tracking ETF governance and compliance matters.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field is preferred. CFA/MBA preferred.
- 3 plus years of experience in the investment management industry with ETF capital market experience ideally ETF trading and/or listing exchange experience.
- Previous experience as a sell-side analyst with index arbitration/equity derivatives/prime brokerage sales experience helpful.
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to influence senior management.
- Strong organizational, time management, and relationship management skills
Preferred. - Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritization and time allocation.
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to maintain focus and drive results
- FINRA Series 7 and 63 preferred.
- Ability to quickly process information, draw relevant conclusions, and clearly summarize results.
- Savvy use of technology in combination with a data driven mindset.
The starting base salary is $106,000 to $130,000.
The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.
