Job Summary
The Engineering Learning Center (ELC) within the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is a program that offers assistance to students in CECS courses and other academic success programs. Tutors provide drop-in and schedule assistance to students in both in-person and virtual formats.
Responsibilities*
The ECE Tutor will work in the Engineering Learning Center (ELC) fulfilling the following responsibilities:
- Provide drop-in tutoring for ECE courses supported by the ELC in both in-person and virtual modalities
- Facilitate 1-1 and group appointments for course assistance
- Proctor various types of course exams
- Help students sign in to the ELC
- Support students in accessing resources offered by the ELC and the university
- Attend training sessions related to academic success and best practices in ECE tutoring
- Promote the ELC at events and class visits
- Assist the ELC coordinator with projects and other administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications*
- Applicants must be recommended by a faculty member who can attest to the applicant's ability to tutor ECE material.
- Applicants must have completed ENGR 100, ECE 270, ECE 273, ECE 210, ECE 3171, ECE 3731, ECE 311 at UM-Dearborn with grades of "B" or better.
- Applicants must have and are required to maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.
