We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Product Management to lead our product efforts for internal and backend systems. This person will manage a small team of talented product managers, driving roadmap creation, execution, and collaboration across the company. In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of backend solutions that support our organization's strategic goals. Additionally, you will present complex, technical concepts in a clear, executive-friendly manner to drive alignment with stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Eden Prairie, MN office location.
Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy and Roadmap: Define and lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for internal and backend systems, aligning them with broader business goals. Balance strategic goals with operational priorities to optimize impact and efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of product managers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture that prioritizes user needs and delivers results.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, data, design, operations, and other internal teams to drive product development and iteration. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
- Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into high-level presentations for executives and non-technical stakeholders. Develop effective communication strategies to update on project status, challenges, and successes.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and user insights to make informed decisions, assess project impact, and prioritize initiatives for optimal results.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline product development cycles, improve cross-functional collaboration, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years in product management, with a focus on backend systems, infrastructure, or similar internal technology products, and 3+ years in a leadership role managing product managers.
- Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of backend system architecture, engineering practices, and product lifecycle management (Salesforce knowledge and experience is a plus). Ability to work closely with engineers and understand technical trade-offs.
- Communication Skills: Strong presentation and communication skills with experience in conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing teams, with a collaborative and empowering approach.
- Analytical Mindset: Data-driven decision maker with experience leveraging analytics to drive strategy and assess performance.
