CORE
Your role will be responsible for the full lifecycle of enterprise data products and services that align with the company goals. You will lead the strategic direction of data products and orchestrate cross-disciplinary teams of business leaders, data engineers, data architects, data analysts, and data scientists. The Director of Data Product Management is chartered to establish and execute the data product operating model. You will define the vision and strategy for data products, define and implement product management processes, produce roadmaps for high quality, high performing data products, including their support, enhancement, reinvestment, or retirement needs, and deliver data solutions that facilitate great analytical experiences for CareFirsts customers and internal teams.
You are a capable leader who bears the responsibility to foster value creation from the use of the organization's data assets and how they enable or produce internal/external analytics and insights. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, the creation and execution of the strategies to enable business outcomes, achieve enterprise objectives, and drive innovation in a manner that aligns data policies and use with relevant regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements. You will closely collaborate with customers, business stakeholders, data architects, data scientists, data engineers, and product owners to envision, design, and build the data foundation that powers our data product catalogue. Your team will also gather requirements, write use cases, organize features, implement tools, and establish metrics related to managing the data product life cycle, maintaining a data product catalogue or subscription, and directly producing data products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Establish and Operate the BI & Analytics COE:
- Build a Business Intelligence & Analytic Center of Excellence capability within the Data & Analytics organization to act as a conduit between the COE and business units and functions to understand business strategy and questions and the BI tactics being explored by the organization and throughout the industry. Build and lead a team of experts with deep knowledge of our organization and data sources. Foster a collaborative environment that combines business, IT, and analytics skills to drive impactful data initiatives. Establish Data Governance Standards, such as data-sharing protocols and processes for promoting analytic solutions from sandbox to production environments, in coordination with IT Solutions and Data & Analytics organization.
Define BI/Analytic Vision & Roadmap:
- Develop and communicate a clear vision for data-driven maturity. Identify and implement the tools and KPIs necessary to measure and achieve business goals. Drive improvement to increase self-service capabilities throughout the enterprise and reduce the reliance on ad hoc data services. Evaluate and recommend tools and capabilities to maintain a competitive edge over the next three to five years in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, Data Product, and Data Engineering.
Program Management & Finances:
- Oversee data initiatives in collaboration with Business Units and Functions to ensure successful implementation and alignment with business goals. Manage the budget and allocate resources effectively to support priorities.
People Management:
- Oversee the strategic and day-to-day activities of the team, including directing, coaching, and guiding employees to implement departmental, divisional, and enterprise goals. Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing team. Evaluate the performance of each team member, generate development plans, and set goals within the context of the corporate policies and procedures, aligning enterprise needs with individual professional development or career path needs. Develop annual goals and prepare, monitor, and analyze variances of departmental financial forecasts, accruals, and budgets to control and appropriately allocate resources.
Elevate Business Intelligence & Analytics Capabilities Across the Enterprise:
- Evangelize data capabilities with internal audience, customers, and industry forums. Assess competitors data offerings and identify gaps and opportunities. Assist with customer/user-facing communications such as marketing messages, RFP responses, release notes and support communications. Scan the horizon for emerging BI & Analytic strategies, tools, skills, techniques, and technologies to ensure their timely introduction for competitive advantage.

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Salary Range: $146,720 - $272,349
