The compensation philosophy reflects the Company’s reasonable expectation at the time of posting. We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.

Position Summary:

Serve as a legal advisor to the companies comprising Reyes Beverage Group (“RBG"), working with senior leadership to advise on all legal matters affecting RBG. Will report to the General Counsel and is a true generalist role.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Assist with acquisition activities, including due diligence, negotiations, purchase agreement drafting and integration of new businesses.
  • Assist with legal affairs of RBG operations in multiple states as well as matters related to centralized corporate functions.
  • Participate in enterprise-wide legal team meetings and activities including parent company and affiliated businesses.
  • Understand and support full range of regulatory compliance and ethics affairs. Stay up to date and advise the company on various state and federal regulatory changes and requirements regarding the distribution of alcoholic beverages.
  • Draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements including, but not limited to, alcoholic beverage distribution agreements and various vendor agreements.
  • Partner with human resources and other internal or external counsel to advise on employee related matters.
  • Coordinate material litigation with key stakeholders including litigation holds and participation in claim reviews.
  • Support and review internal and external communications including social media, crisis communications and customer/supplier communications.
  • Support business operations through policy creation including training documentation.
  • Work with external counsel.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from a respected law school with strong academic record.
  • Admission to a U.S. state bar with an active license and compliance with requirements for in-house practice in the State of Illinois.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience at top tier law firm or in-house.
  • Strong ethical background and commitment to integrity.
  • Flexible and willing to perform all levels of work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
